When I first became a personal trainer I was amazed by the number of new clients who came to me suffering from aches, pains and injuries. The majority of these people had just put up with these problems and viewed them as a part of getting older, or a consequence of their daily lives.
Over time, hard workouts, postural abnormalities and the physical stresses of everyday life can lead to the development of scar tissue & muscular knots. Eventually this can lead to biomechanical compensations and injuries.
Sports massage helps by breaking down these tissues and encouraging muscle fibres to realign and heal. Sports massage is available to everyone I train as a part of the service.
In addition, I also teach people how to perform routine maintenance on their bodies and how to avoid getting injured in the first place.
